A small but exuberant French giltwood wall mirror of cartouche form. Late 19th Century. The Rococo style mirror is deeply carved, water-gilded with a base of red oxide bole over a gesso ground, with polychrome accents. The heraldic shaped mirror is topped with an extravagant naturalistic shell crested top, it’s surround is composed of floral motifs and scrolled flowing acanthus leaves.
