An outstanding pair of heavy French Cast Iron Tazza Urns on cast iron capped sandstone plinths. c.1880
Wonderful examples of classically influenced ornamental garden urns. Highly adorned with stylised motifs ranging from: acanthus leaves rising from the socle; egg and dart detailing around the base; arrow lozenge shapes and rococo scrolls with fleur de lis surrounding the rim of the bowls.
The urns are held aloft by cast iron capped solid sandstone pedestals in two sections.
We love the patination and rich green/turquoise remnants of flaking paint which gives the urns a delicate and romantic appearance.
