A huge beautifully cast pair of very elegant 1930s composite stone Acanthus leaf urns with their original plinths, excellent. In Ancient Rome and Ancient Greek architecture acanthus ornament appears extensively in Corinthian order and Composite order capitals, it’s curved sculptural leaves continued in popularity in Byzantine, Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
